I am primarily a baseball fan, but it's always good to see Boston win. After a 22 year drought (if you can call it that), the Cs win their 17th NBA Championship. Icing on the cake is winning at home, and starting the celebrations midway through the fourth quarter after annihilating the Lake Show. What a way to end this amazing season. This somewhat dulls the pain of Superbowl XLII, which has made me contemplate skipping this year's football season entirely.

We are injured, but we are strong. Just as the Sox disabled list was starting to pile up, we get strong performances from Masterson, Drew, Crisp, and even the pen has stepped up.
Craig Hansen is showing much more promise this season, as his outings are more and more solid. Javy Lopez, David Aardsma, Timlin, Oki, and MDC all seem to take turns having a bad inning. In other words it's a good balance, and the pen has been efficient with Papelbon to slam the door when necessary.

Yes I am happy that the Celtics beat the Lakers. But am I bitter that Kevin Garnett won it for Boston when he would have won it for Phoenix, if not for a petulent player (I'm looking at you, Shawn Marion) scuppering a 3 team trade? Do bears shit in the woods?
Do you really think Garnett could have propelled Phoenix to victory? Even with Garnett, the Suns would still have plenty of trouble playing in the wild west. You'd still have to get by the Lakers, and then get by the Cavs in the finals.
You don't have a Paul Pierce type player to deal with the Kobe/Lebron threat. KG will push for defense, but Amare and Nash are notoriously poor defenders. Having KG and not winning would have just left you disappointed.
Seeing how the playoffs panned out, I think yes, we would have won.
With KG, we would have had the stronger post presence to deal with Tim Duncan AND give something for Duncan to deal with. KG would draw Duncan out allowing Stoudemire more freedom to do his thing.
Before their injuries, Raja Bell and Grant Hill were playing great defense on the wing in place of Marion. Remember, Bell was the player who clotheslined and humbled Bryant only 2 seasons ago. And Hill did everything well up until his injury.
Didn't you have Shaq to do that?
Kobe two years ago isn't the same as Kobe today. Same goes for the Lakers. They have so many mid quality big guys they can throw at KG to wear him out. It'd be a shootout. Odom can't shutdown KG, like Bell can't shut down Kobe.
I was praying for the Celtics. I mean basketball was hardly exciting in previous years. They made it! Boston, ba zai!!!
