Clutch Veterans Perform

It is elmination time in the World Cup tournament. Do or die, now or never. The young and inexperienced Spain has fallen to France. Netherlands unexpectedly loses to Figo's Portugese team. The pressure has increased as World Cup veterans show their stuff when it matters most.

David Beckham
Say what you will of Mr. Prettyman, but that free kick goal against Ecuador was nothing but awesomeness. Number seven is often criticized for umm... pretty much everything! However, it is difficult to deny how good he is with stationary kicks. When a guy is that good at what he does, I don't see how he can deserve criticism.

Zinadine Zidane
Crappy since 98? Difficult to convince someone of that after last night's body contorting header. Lets see what Zidane's got left for Brazil.

Ronaldo
Overweight? Hot wife? Save that kind of gossip for Maradonna, because this ex-Mr. Football is not done yet. Crossover against the goalie is a classic Ronaldo move.

Spain's loss to France was a big surprise when i woke up this morning. but, what can i say... the French have got themselves a spot in the final 8. now, it feels much more fun to watch the World Cup. Going to bed an hr past my bedtime shouldn't harm :P

Beckham's goal was sweet! most people critisize him becuase he's good looking AND he can play football! Who wouldn't want to be him?

And Zidane, well, it's nice to see him scoring goals for his country in his last World Cup. It'll be exciting to watch the France vs. Brazil game!

Ronaldo does look fat, but who cares?! As long as he scores goal that are as incredible as they were when he was skinny then it doesn't matter. Also, the goal he scored during the Ghana game was his 15th WOrld Cup goal! Did you know that? He beat Gerd Muller's record of 14. Imagine how many more goals Ronaldo will score in the games left?!?!?

The WOrld Cup is looking great! ^_^

I am not on the Brazil bandwagon and stickin with my Portugal and Italy teams but i really thing u nailed it.
Ronaldo stepped up big and shut up all the nay-sayers and Beckham needed this in a big way to show he is mroe than just tabloid fodder.

It is the strongest , perhaps the best 8's and Semis in recent years.
6 of 8 teams won one or more world cup after 1950's.

Beckham, Oh man, I was yelling, "Show me the Money!" in an Irish Pub. HA HA Ole'
he is just so Good at it, I think ~ he is actually getting better and better at stationly kicks then before.

Ronaldo, Man he is not Fat, he is stronger then before. yes, he is a bit slower, but I think he became more creative. He was never a "KICKER". as me and my friends said it all the time, he DRIVES THE BALL to the net. just usually low Kicks to the net. I guess that is what 阿叔 refer to as 足球智慧. he is finally using his head.
